Compact tractor - John deere 3020
The 3020 compact tractor was manufactured by John Deere from 1964 to 1972 and is a larger version of the
2020. This row-crop tractor is available with either a power shift transmission or a Syncro-range. This upgrade from the 3010 is one of the “New Generation Tractors,” which means it has more versatility, along with capabilities. The 3020 comes in LP gas, diesel or gasoline that produces a tested 63 horsepower at the drawbar. The fuel tank can hold up to 29 gallons. There are four standard choices for the engine, all built by John Deere, that are available on the 3020. Ranging in size from 3.7 liters up to 4.4 liters, all are four-cylinder. All are key-started and use a liquid cooling system. Despite its size, the tricycle front-end makes maneuvering this tractor easy.
Two different transmission systems are available. The first is a full power shift gear box, giving eight gears traveling forward and four in reverse, with a max speed of 16.4 mph. The second transmission system is a partially synchronized Syncro-range, also with eight gears traveling forward, but only two in reverse. The top speed is 17.5 mph. The steering system is power assisted to make it easier to navigate and the hydraulic system can hold up to 4.5 gallons. The standard option includes the 2WD, but a 4WD option was made available after 1969. Overall, the 3020 is known for its reliability.
