Navistar International – the Brand

Navistar International Corporation is a producer of trucks known under the brand of International Trucks, as well as MaxxForce diesel engines, IC Bus and Workhorse chassis, as well as engine parts. The company started as a farming equipment manufacturer, but due to the economic crisis in 1980s most of its divisions were sold as unprofitable and all that was left was the truck branch. The diesel popularity of diesel engines led to Navistar making new investments and in 2004 they re-entered the retail market with a series of three pick-up trucks. Navistar was the first company to introduce hybrid engines in trucks – it was the International DuraStar Hybrid diesel-electric truck.
